I stumbled across an article that said that Google rolled out a search index from 2001 in honor of its 10th birthday (yep, 2001 was only 7 years ago, but apparently that’s the oldest index they could find). I started to play around searching things to see what the internet was like in 2001. I Googled my (maiden) name and only got references to my cousin, Heather (who was on the Quinnipiac [sp?] volleyball team and had a teammate named Alison). Then I Googled iPhone and got references to an old internet phone device (with 56k modem - wow!) which I thought was pretty funny/interesting.
Then I thought waaaaay back to 2001 and remembered that I was teaching Winter Guard at Shen at that time, so I Googled Shen Winter Guard and came up with only a few listings. The first was for the Shen Novice Winter Guard Home Page that I set up that year. Awwwwwww. Unfortunately, it wasn’t actually archived on the Internet Archive, so I couldn’t view it - which would have been interesting. I’m wracking my brains to try and remember what that site would have looked like… It was one of the first sites I ever did so I’m sure it wasn’t all that wondrous (not that this one is…). I think that I just went with something simple like Green and White. Awwww. That was so long ago. My little novice girlies are all grown up now - the girls that I taught my first year have probably graduated from college by now. Wow. I’m old…
